Black Hat Certified Pentester (BCPen) Certification

Certificate Information

The Black Hat Certified Pentester (BCPen) is an official certification program designed for experienced penetration testers by The SecOps Group. This certification endorses an individual’s technical proficiency and in-depth understanding of penetration testing to identify and exploit vulnerabilities amongst the different domains in the ever-changing cybersecurity landscape.

This certification was obtained following an intensive, full-day hands-on technical assessment at Black Hat Europe 2023. The examination covered a broad spectrum of the ever-evolving cybersecurity landscape, including areas such as OSINT, Cloud Security, Active Directory Exploits, and many other domains.

Taking this examination big step of faith for me, driven by my passion for penetration testing. It was an exciting challenge that really pushed my limits and helped me grow. This certification also helped me to gain a deeper understanding of Active Directory Exploits, an area that I had limited exposure to. Learning on the fly and tackling the challenges head-on was both a thrilling and incredibly rewarding experience.

I faced some initial challenges during the examination, primarily due to limited resources. However, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to The SecOps Group, led by Sumit Siddharth, for their invaluable support and assistance throughout the process. My journey was complicated by connectivity issues, as I lacked dedicated internet access and had to rely on public WiFi networks, using a VPN to securely complete the examination. This involved a unique challenge of finding locations with adequate charging facilities and stable connectivity. Despite these significant obstacles, I am immensely proud to have completed the examination with merit under such challenging conditions.
